Whenever we go to markets, I am the one who talks and chats with the customers. Its what I love about markets, you meet so many people from the different stall holders, market organisers and of course visitors to the market.
Everyone assumes I make the earrings and cufflinks, which is perfectly natural as Im the one who is at the stand. But I dont have that creative making flare at all, the delicate nature of working with wood, crafting it so its perfect is not my handy work, its my husband's Mark! He loves it, it's his creative outlet. He did woodwork at school, we still have one of his tables he made and its sitting in one of the kids rooms. He works in finance so making, creating, designing and working with wood is his outlet. And more now than ever, he needs it. I help with the colour choices of his paints and give him ideas on designs, but ultimately he makes it all happen.
He can spend hours working on different designs, trialling them in his laser machine, sanding and painting them - kids love to help out too and create their own designs! So its really a small family business.
So now Ive let the secret out of the bag, my husband is the clever one when it comes to our core business of making and creating earrings and cufflinks. We hope you love them as much as we do.
